Scott Teske, Artistic Director & Founder

Scott Teske founded Seattle Rock Orchestra in 2008.  Prior to working on SRO full time, he worked for 8 years as a double bass specialist for the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Tacoma & Icicle Creek Youth Symphonies, Holy Names Academy and a dozen or so local middle & high schools.  As an arts administrator, Scott coordinated the Seattle Youth Symphony's summer camp for two years and their education programs for three years.

In October 2012, Scott was honored to contribute orchestrations and an original composition to The Seattle Symphony as part of their annual Sonic Evolution program, and again in January 2015 in collaboration with Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, as performed by SSO and special guests Mad Season, Duff McKagan (of Guns'n'Roses fame) and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.

Scott studied double bass with Doug Miller, Barry Lieberman and Jordan Anderson, and graduated from the University of Washington School of Music with a B.M. in Classical Double Bass Performance.

Scott is passionate about keeping the study and performance of orchestral instruments alive and thriving.
